Nashua Recycling Data Research
💡For each year, you need four pieces of information for the table in your journal:
1. How much is recycled in weight? This can be found in the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports below.
2. What is the cost in dollars? This can be found in the Solid Waste Department's Detail Expenditures Reports below.
3. What is recycled? This can be found in the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports below.
4. Where does it go? This changed over time, and was not reported formally. The companies Nashua currently works with are listed below.
Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports - A yearly report on the City of Nashua's government finances and activities.
💡 1. Search the City website for "city financial reports" and find the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for each fiscal year.
2. In the table of contents, find the section on Operating Information and go to the page for "Operating Indicators by Function."
3. In the data table, find the line for "Recycling (tons)" and the amount for the appropriate year. This is the data for column 1 of your journal.
4. Follow the footnote to the bottom of the page to find what was recycled. This is the data for column 3 of your journal.

2. Look for the TOTAL line at the bottom of the second page.
3. Find the amount in the column called YTD EXPENDED (year-to-date). This is the data for column 2 of your journal.
