Second Step and Bullying Prevention Units

Second Step Second Step® is used for Grades K-6 at NSCS. The researched based curriculum is rooted in social-emotional learning (SEL) and helps children sort through complicated emotions, make sound decisions, build positive relationships and manage strong feelings. The Bullying Prevention Units are taught to all students in Grades K-5 at NSCS. Topics including Recognizing Bullying, Reporting Bullying, Refusing Bullying, and Bystander Power to help stop bullying. Grades 4 -6 cover the topic of cyberbullying to teach students to recognize, report and refuse bullying through use of various technology.
