Dear Parents, Families, and Kiddos,
Welcome to Room 128!!!!
GREAT THINGS will be happening in Room 128 this year, you can be sure! Our AMAZING Grade 1 Adventure will look to everyone's individual efforts -- SO IMPORTANT!!
BUT....It's OUR TEAMWORK that will make our "DREAMWORK" come true!!!
Room 128 will be a place of safe keeping. The classroom environment may look rather empty, but our minds will be full of engaging learning as we immerse ourselves in knowledge TOGETHER, yet apart -- but never THAT FAR APART!!
~A Safety Saying, circa 1900's
Team Room 128 will always know that we are all "on each other's side"! WHY?........
I believe in you. You will be very successful someday. You're going to make it! When you apply what I see in you, nothing will hold you back! I believe in you! Let's build some ideas together, just for tomorrow. Let's pick two achievements and create a way for them to happen.
You each have a purpose. I see it! I feel it! Let's have fun and uncover what it is. An ambition might change, but it's ready! And that's an awesome thing! You have a purpose! We will all listen for your enthusiasm. We will appreciate our "off" days, and we will try, try again. We will our share stories of success and failure and how we always put our hopes first to redo again and again.
I will ask you how you are. I will ask you what you need. I will ask you of your thoughts and feelings. I will ask you your opinions.
Ask me to teach you about my teacher world, our learning culture, music I love, my beliefs, and my story. I may not say a word, and it may take the entire school year for me to respond to your questions, but I hear you.
I hear your interest and your compassionate concern for what you like, what you need, and what plans you would like to see and make happen.
Research shows that exposure to music can also advance a child's ability to learn. Music and movement training has been shown to improve a child's memory, cognitive development, learning skills and expressive ability. ... Bolsters group learning, practicing social skills such as turn-taking and cooperation.
For kids, anything casually musical is fair game. While it's superbly enjoying to watch our kiddos bounce away, it turns out all that shaking and bopping has many intellectual benefits too. Music and movement shapes vocabulary, teaches rhythm and rhyme, and is a natural stress reliever.
So turn it on, turn it up, and shake it off!!!!
