Mr. Jon DeHay
Jon DeHay is entering his 13th year at K.W.S. Bear Road Elementary and has worked for NSCSD for 20 years. Jon is a product of Cicero-North Syracuse High School class of 1997. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from SUNY Cortland. While at SUNY Cortland he was a member of the Men's Basketball Team and an Assistant Coach for the Women's Volleyball Team. Mr. DeHay is the 12U Director for Club SYRV (USA Volleyball) and also officiates volleyball. Mr. DeHay lives in Cicero with his wife Katrina, daughter Addison(11) and son Carter(9) and dog Reese (3).
Mrs. Loren Pennisi
Loren Pennisi enters her 8th year at KWS Bear Road Elementary and working for NSCSD for 18 years. She was an Adapted Physical Education Teacher and High School/Junior High School Teacher before coming to KWS Bear Road. Loren is a product of Solvay High School class of 2000. Loren earned a Leadership and Recreation Degree from Onondaga Community College before attended SUNY Cortland where she earned her Undergradute and Masters Degree in Physical Education. Loren resides in Syracuse with her husband John, daughter Josie (8), son Mason (6).
Mr. Kiernan Hole
Kieran is the adapted physical education teacher here at Bear road. He went to school at SUNY Brockport where he got his degree in Physical Education. After leaving Brockport, Kieran went down to the University of Virginia to obtain his master's degree in adapted physical education. Prior to joining NSCSD he taught middle school PE for 1 year, adapted PE in northern Virginia for 2 years, and lastly adapted PE at BOCES for half a year before finally landing here at North Syracuse in the winter of 2024. Kieran enjoys playing soccer and golf in his free time as well as playing with his two dogs Jett (2 years old) and Kora (2 Years old).
Mrs. Rachel McDermott
Rachel has been the adapted physical education teacher at NSCSD for the past 7 years and has been working in the field for 20. She is graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and received her bachelor and master degree in education from SUNY Cortland. Rachel and her husband live outside of Cazenovia along with her 2 boys Keagan (14 years old) and Ethan (11 years old). Rachel is an avid runner and loves to watch her boys participate in a number of school sports.
