SENIOR PORTRAITS
All CNS students, including seniors, will have their portraits taken by Upstate Images for school use, IDs, etc.. These same portraits can also be used in the yearbook—free of charge—for the senior portrait section of the yearbook.
Seniors who wish to submit a portrait from an outside photographer must do so by October 2, 2026.
If no portrait is submitted by that date, the photo taken by Upstate Images will automatically be used in the yearbook.
No late submissions by outside photographers will be accepted.
If you miss the October 2 deadline, you can still get your portrait taken by Upstate Images when they come to CNS the week of November 2 or in their studio.
Outside Photographer Requirements:
If using a different photographer other than Upstate Images, the portrait must meet the following specifications:
● Portraits must be in color and be cropped with a traditional head-and-shoulder pose
● Portraits cannot be full body shots (must be head and shoulders only)
● Standard traditional blue or gray background (no backlighting or effects)
● No props, hats, or pets in the photos
● No photos from cell phones and no candid photos
● High-resolution .jpg format at 300 dpi
● File name format: StudentLastName_FirstName (example: Doe_John)

Be sure that the file name is named exactly as stated above.
It is up to the senior to make sure their photographer is aware of the importance of the
file name if their photographer is the one submitting the portrait and to verify that it was received by Mr. Farranto. You can email him here: jfarranto@nscsd.org
*** Upstate Images will take care of submitting all portraits they take so there's no need for you to if you got your portrait taken with them. ***
UPSTATE IMAGES
If you are using Upstate Images for your senior portrait, the October 2nd deadline does not apply to you.
Upstate Images will be coming to CNS November 2, 4, 5, and 6 to take senior portraits. Seniors will sign up in their English classes for a day/time. English teachers will be taking names around the second week of October so be sure to pay attention in your English class for this announcement.
How to chose an Upstate Images pose
1. Go to Upstate-Images.com (or click on the link in the email you were sent)
2. Click "order pictures" tab
3. Go to view/order Senior portraits
4. Enter online code (rec'd in the email after portrait was taken)
5. At the top middle of the screen, click on the yearbook selection.
6. Choose yearbook image selection. It will automatically save and be viewable in the box with the X below.
