Music at Finn

My name is Jeanette Morgan. I am the music teacher at the Mary Finn School. I graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in music education and voice as my instrument. Following graduation, I started my teaching career in Michigan where I taught K-5 general music, recorder, and choir to over 1000 students per week. I moved to Massachusetts in 2008 and worked in the Westwood and then the Hudson public schools before taking some time away from classroom work to explore opportunities in music publishing.

As an editor for Heritage Music Press, I collaborated with many well-known and phenomenal music educators to develop lesson, curriculum, and technology publications for elementary music teachers. I also published my own collections of lessons, movement activities, software and teaching tools. I was also the editor for and a contributor to Activate! Music, Movement, and More, a subscription-based magazine for music educators. In my role with Heritage Music Press, I led a number of workshops for music educators throughout the country.

After 8 years of mostly desk work, I felt it was time to get back to my roots and return to classroom music. I am very excited to bring the joy of music to the students at Mary Finn.
