In order to be considered for membership in NSSHS, you must have...
An interest and passion for history, social science, and/or civics
Successfully completed two years of Social Studies courses (10 credits; preferably U.S. History I and II) and preferably an additional elective course (not required, but encouraged)
A cumulative GPA of 3.0
Two adult references, including one Social Studies teacher. Your references do not need to write letters, but you must confirm with them in person that they will be your reference
Experience with community/civics-based service
Open the NSSHS Application form, make a copy, and complete it.
All applications must be completed and shared with Ms. Burns (bburns@nsboro.k12.ma.us) by 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 5th. Please set your sharing settings to allow anyone at Northborough-Southborough to be an editor.
*Any application that is edited after this deadline will be invalid.
*Applications that are late, incorrectly submitted, or do not allow access will not be considered.
Be sure to use academic writing, correct spelling/grammar, and proofread your application thoroughly. You may ask a teacher to review your application before you turn it in, but no edits or changes can be made after it is submitted.
The application process requires a 10-minute interview with the selection committee. Candidates whose application meets the minimum requirements will receive an email by June 5th with a link to sign up for an interview. You must sign up by June 9th. You don't need to do anything to prepare for the interview.

June 11th-16th: Interviews (afternoons after Final Exams)
Interviews are a required component and will not be waived or rescheduled.
All application decisions will be communicated on or before June 17th via school email. The first meeting for accepted members will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 7:30 a.m. in the Library Lab.
