Welcome to our classroom! My name is Dr. Michael Tollefson, and I'll be teaching physics to freshman and seniors.
This year, we'll explore exciting subjects, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and work together to achieve your academic and personal goals. I believe that learning is a collaborative process, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Physics is a branch of science that helps explain the world around you. We will perform a number of hands on laboratory activities to draw conclusions about what is observed. We apply that fundamental understanding to new problems.
AP Physics 1 studies Newtonian Mechanics (motion, forces, momentum, energy, fluids, rotational motion) at a college level using algebra.
Accelerated (senior) Physics is a survey course that covers Newtonian Mechanics first semester then electromagnetism and waves second semester.
Freshman Physics with Engineering Applications is a project based class that covers motion and forces first semester while building a force gauge and fan car. Second semester covers energy, electromagnetism, basic chemistry and waves while building a DC motor and speaker.
