Hello 4C Families!
Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! My name is Mrs. Coen and I'm excited to learn and grow with your children! I look forward to working collaboratively with all of you to have the best year yet!
This year, students will develop their English language arts skills through module studies of poetry, animal research using informational texts, and develop understanding and analyze perspectives through historical fiction. Students will analyze literary elements, such as characters and theme, as they progress as independent readers.
Using the Bridges math curriculum, students will build on their knowledge of math skills through problems and investigations, work place games, math forums, and problem strings. Additionally, our class will participate in Number Corner to promote procedural fluency and conceptual understanding of grade level math skills.
As the year begins, I want you all to know I am here as a partner in your child's education. Students succeed when they are supported by a team and I am honored to be a part of that team. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
All the best,
Mrs. Coen
About Mrs. Coen
This is my 14th year teaching. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade in Lawrence and Fitchburg. This is my second year at The Center School as a fourth grade teacher. I'm can't wait to get to know our class of incoming fourth graders!
I live with my husband, Dan; six-year-old son, Ethan; 3 month old daughters, Olivia and Audrey; and our two cats, Poppy and Pepper. I enjoy hiking with my family, staying active, relaxing with a good book, and getting together with my friends. I like to venture to the mountains to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Originally from Upstate New York, I love visiting my family whenever we get the opportunity.
