Literacy:
We culminated our research on how living things depend on trees with a diorama walk! Children displayed their fantasic diorama for their classmates to to see. Everyone worked very hard on all the elements of this project and were proud of their accomplishments.
The book The Reflection in Me by Marc Colagiovanni was the perfect book for us to write what we like about ourselves. The character in the book talks to her reflection about all the wonderful attributes she sees in herself. Children were able look in a mirror and decide what they want to write about themselves.
We listened, danced and read the lyrics to a song called "When I Grow Up." It was a fun way for us to start to think about the possible ideas of what they would like to be when they get older. Children were able to use clip boards and find a space in the classroom to draw and write about what they want to be when they grow up.

If it’s a consistent change (ie. pick-up every Thursday), one communication to all stating this is fine. Health questions should go to Rebecca Carle, rcarle@nrsd.net. Anything that is simply classroom related (family news, having a tough day, classroom questions, etc) should go to myself and Colinda.
Your child will receive a red folder to go between home and school every day. Please check their folder daily and send it back to school back each day. If your child is getting school lunch, please circle their choice on the lunch menu in their folder.
Please pack a snack and labeled water bottle everyday. Snacks must be peanut nut and nut free as we eat in the classroom, peanut butter and nuts are fine to pack for lunch. It's best to separate your child's snack from their lunch.
Please keep your child's extra clothes updated with weather appropriate options. We go through a lot of socks and pants during the winter and early spring days!
We have PE on C days. Please have your child wear sneakers to school for PE (sneakers are great all days, especially for recess!)
