I'm Mr. Denson (he/him), and I'll be your 8th grade Civics (Social Studies) teacher. 

This year, we will dive into how our government works, the roots of our democracy, and what it truly means to be an active, engaged citizen in the United States of America and here in Massachusetts. In this class, we aren't just memorizing facts—we are actively building the Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate competencies. Together, we will grow as culturally competent global citizens by practicing empathy and exploring diverse perspectives on complex community issues.

Through standard coursework and your student-led civics project, you will sharpen your communication and creativity to advocate for real-world solutions. Civic engagement takes perseverance and a true learner's mindset, and I believe that learning is a collaborative process. I am here to support you every step of the way. Let's make it a great year!
