PROJECTS 50%, Google Forms (Assessments) 30%,

Dailey Grade 20%, What Do You Know - Ticket to Go 10%

TO PARTICIPATE:

Students prepared for physical education classes are wearing sneakers that tie and are school appropriate attire. When prepared this will allow for movement and safety. Students Because of the New England weather, please be prepared with extra socks/sneakers and 2nd layer of clothes.

One person in the locker rooms at a time.

UNITS OF FOCUS:

Fall: Cooperative Games, Foot –Eye Coordination (soccer), Fielding & Striking (field & street hockey), Fitness Knowledge (F.I.T.T), Throwing and Catching (Football, Baseball, Speedball)

Winter: Team Building, Movement Exploratory (rhythm), Rope Jumping, Throwing & Catching (Basketball)

Spring: Net Games (Tennis, badminton, Volleyball), Fitness Knowledge (F.I.T.T), Fielding & Striking (golf, kickball, cricket), Recreational Games

GRADING: The grading rubric used for PE focuses on three elements:

Standards and Skills

1. Applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance. Creating open and closed space using locomotor skills in combination with varying pathways; change of speed, direction or pace.

2. Demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns. Creating and/or following movement correctly to a rhythm and pattern.
