As we progress through the curriculum, I wanted to highlight some key areas where our students will make strides:
In Language Arts, they will read various texts such as books, poems, letters, news articles, and Internet pages. Additionally, they are practicing speaking and listening in both formal and informal contexts, like presentations and conversations. This will help them communicate their opinions, information, and experiences effectively for various readers while enhancing their knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.
In Mathematics, students will use math to represent and solve real-world problems. They will also learn to make arguments about the validity of statements, using tools like rulers and manipulatives to illustrate mathematical relationships, and identifying patterns and structures of numbers to deepen their understanding.
In Science and Technology/Engineering, students are encouraged to ask scientific questions about the natural world and human designs. They will engage in hands-on experiences through observations and experiments, solving problems like engineers and scientists, and sharing solutions to explain how the world works.
Lastly, in History and Social Science, students will explore their local community and expanding their knowledge about the state, country, and world. They are discovering how historical events relate to the present and working to understand diverse perspectives. Various sources of information are being used for research, discussions, and inquiries.
