The War of 1812 showed the rest of the world the power of the United States of America. HOWEVER, European countries (Britain, France, and Spain) had colonies all throughout Central and South America. European influences this close to America created a scary situation. What if we get involved with another war? What if European countries are jealous and want to hurt our new found power? European influence and jealousy is unacceptable!
