Can my child be temporarily excused from physical education?
- A note from the parent must be sent to school when the child returns after an absence.
- A child may be excused from physical education class for three days with a note from a parent.
- A doctor's note is required to excuse the child for more than three days.
What is the attendance policy in Physical Education? Health?
- Physical Education: Loss of Credit - 10 absences
- Health: Loss of Credit - 4 absences
- *Reminder - 3 tardies to class equals 1 cumulative absence
What are the details regarding Sports Study?
- Sport Study grades are an average of a students Physical Education Grade and the Athletic Grade given by the coach.
- Your request for a sport study will only be honored if you have completed your mandatory documentation for the Athletic Office. This includes your up to date approved physical, your approved parent signed permission card, etc.
- Please note that you are not eligible for a sport study if you already have a full (5 day) study in your schedule.
- Daily attendance in sports study counts towards your physical education course. Further, if you accumulate 10% absences (including tardies) in your sports study you will be returned to your physical education class.

What is the student responsible for if they are in a Medical Study and unable to participate in physical education?
- In order to ensure all students are receiving state mandated instruction in health and physical education, any student medically excused from PE for an extended period of time (2 weeks or more) will be expected to complete alternative assignments issued by their PE teachers.
- The PE teacher will provide alternate assignments to the student via Google Classroom.
- The student will submit all completed work to their PE teacher.
- The PE teacher will grade work via Pass/Fail.
