Honors Chemistry

Course Description:

Chemistry is an inquiry-based laboratory course designed to initiate students into the theories and concepts of chemistry. Using an active ‘hands-on’ and ‘minds-on’ approach to learning, and a variety of inquiry-based investigations, the course promotes the development of science literacy and student proficiency in the process of science.

Grading:

Students will be graded on a point system. Their grade will be calculated as follows:

(Total Points Student Earned / Total Points Assigned) x 100= Student’s Percentage


Grades will earned based on: Tests, Quizzes, Homework, Projects, Laboratories, etc.

Tests are generally 30 -50 points

Quizzes are generally 5 - 25 points

Laboratories 15-24 points

Homework 3-10 points
