Welcome to 2M! We are going to have a wonderful 2023-2024 year!                                     

Welcome to the wonderful world of second grade in class 2M.  I'm so glad that you and your child is joining me in second grade this year.   These first days of school will be very exciting, and I hope that this letter will be helpful in answering some of your questions.

 The following are supplies that your child will need for the school year.  Please bring them as soon as possible.  If you have them please label each item with your child's initials.  We will also be labeling all student supplies throughout the first week of school and storing extras in the classroom.

3 – boxes (12 count/box) Pencils Ticonderoga #2, sharpened

4 - Pink Large Latex-Free Erasers

 8 - Elmer's Small Glue Stick Washable Purple - Dries Clear 

1 - Plastic Pencil/School Box (8.25” X 5.25” X 2.25”)

 1 – pack (4 colors/pack) Expo Low Odor Dry Erase Markers Fine Point 

2 - boxes 24-count Crayola Crayons

 2 - Chisel-Tip Yellow Highlighters

2 - 1” Basic 3-Ring Binders (1 Blue & 1 White)

4 – Lined Post It Notes Yellow 100ct 3x3

1 - Scissors Stainless Steel Blunt 5"

1 – small, hand-held, plastic pencil sharpener with receptacle

Additional Items 

*1 small bottle of Elmer's Glue

 *a reusable water bottle for each day

Your child will be using a pocket folder as a home /school folder.  This folder will be used to transport homework as well as important letters, and notes from home.  It is necessary that this folder be sent back to school each day.  If you have any concerns that need my attention in the morning, please feel free to slip a note into this folder.  Your child will be responsible for emptying this folder each morning, and handing homework papers into the "PAPERS IN" tray on the table at the side of the classroom.  Your child will also be bringing their School planner book to/from school each day which will contain their hand written daily homework assignments.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns throughout the year that need to be addressed at length it is best to email me, so that we can plan a meeting or phone conference to discuss your concerns.  Also, if you are available directly after school at pick up, I'm more than happy to answer any quick questions or concerns.
