Tips for a Successful School Year
Stay Organized
You can stay organized by creating color coordinated folders in your google drive. Be sure to place your documents in the appropriate folder in order to easily access them.
Use the Google Calendar App found in self-service to keep track of your assignments and due dates.
Place all documents for last year in a separate folder named 2019-2020
Create a Separate Working Area
Select a quiet space to sit and do your work, preferably not your bedroom or in front of a TV. This will help eliminate distractions and separate relaxation time with time to work.
Communicate!
It is important, now more than ever, to reach out to your teachers with questions you have about your assignments. They are available and willing to help!
Contact your school counselor to check in with your emotions and concerns with distance learning. Again, this is new for everyone but we are here to support you!
Get Involved
Students who get involved in afterschool activities, sports or clubs are more likely to feel connected and do well inside and outside of school.
Create Healthy Habits
Get enough sleep each night. Middle School students should be getting between 8-10 hours of sleep each night. This helps the body and brain function each day!
Be sure to eat right! Take extra time and effort to make sure your body is getting proper nutrients.
Think Positive! Middle school is challenging! Remember to stay positive and know that you can do whatever you put your mind to!
