Through the year we will explore the human body and learn about the structure and function of muscles, bones, the nervous system, special senses, endocrine system, reproductive system, renal system, digestive system, and the cardiovascular system. We will also learn about conditions, diseases, and syndromes that can afflict each of these systems and how modern medicine is developing to better treat patients afflicted with certain conditions. Students will carry out hands-on investigations exploring how the body reacts to different stimuli, carry out in depth dissections, and use medical tools to better understand how the human body works.
