AP Physics 1

In AP Physics 1, students will learn about the fundamental principles of mechanical motion in the Universe.

Course Description

AP Physics/STEM 1 is an inquiry-based laboratory course equivalent to a first-semester college course in algebra-based physics. The objective of the course is to develop a deep understanding of foundational physics and the principles of STEM and to foster the development of critical thinking and reasoning skills. Students will engage in laboratory and authentic learning experiences that encourage students to apply physics knowledge to the practice of scientific inquiry and reasoning and to address ‘real-world’ problems.

Before taking this course, students should have a good understanding of algebra and trigonometry.
