One of the biggest struggles I see in students is that they are scared to try, scared that they will fail. The only failure they can have, is the failure to try. Trying is always better than giving up, any work, any thought, is better than not having tried at all. Through prompting, scaffolded materials, and carefully selected questions, students in the classrooms I work in will be able to try challenging problems, projects, and experiences that will better them as students and learners. Everyone deserves the chance to be challenged, to learn with all they have, and be the best student and learner they can be. In my classrooms, I aim to create a space where students feel safe, heard, and challenged to be the best students they can be, and the best versions of themselves that they can be.
