SWAG Club

(Students With Attitudes of Greatness)

Tiger SWAG is a club available exclusively to Salt Brook Elementary School sixth graders.  In addition to participating in our "pen pal" program with the Morris-Union Jointure Commission in New Providence, the chosen students will hold a leadership position as Salt Brook representatives.  Tiger SWAG will be offered as a program both during and after school.  Every month on the first Tuesday, from 3 to 4 p.m., after school, we will hold a meeting.  There will be numerous leadership opportunities throughout the school year. These include leading their own class or activity during Media Bonanza night, serving as a guest reader or classroom assistant for younger grades, taking pictures on spirit days, and helping at other related activities.  Furthermore, Morris-Union Jointure Commission students will visit Salt Brook Elementary School.  In the past, the SWAG club has hosted their own “field day” for students from MUJC.  Other options include SWAG members attending MUJC events and MUJC kids going to Salt Brook for lunch and recess.

By Friday, January 26th, TWO applications must be completed to be considered.  The student application must be filled out by the student and the parent application must be filled out by the parent or guardian.  Links to both applications are available below.  Approximately twenty students will be chosen as special members of the 2024 Tiger SWAG club once all applications have been reviewed by the administration, myself, and the sixth grade team.

Tiger SWAG presents an excellent chance for students to step outside of their comfort zone!  Through all of the activities, they pick up and put empathy, accountability, and respect into practice.
