General United States History II

Course Description

General United States History II is a required full year course taught during the eleventh grade, which meets the New Jersey and New Providence School District’s requirements for the second year of United States History. The course begins with the Progressive Era and extends to modern history in the United States. The course integrates the study of political, social, economic, religious and military history. The course is broken into units that chronologically and thematically explore eras in U.S. / World History. The social studies curriculum provides for consistent and enriched teaching and learning of both content and skills throughout high school. Its ultimate goal is educating students to become active participants in modern society.
