North Pocono elementary schools use a reading series published by McGraw-Hill called "Wonders." The series comes with a companion website full of additional learning aids and opportunities called ConnectED. You can access ConnectED by clicking the link for it in the menu above.
Nothing helps students to become better readers more than practice. Because of that, students will be expected to read each week for at least 20 minutes per day for at least five out of the seven days in a week. I will monitor your child's nightly reading progress each day.
An important part of learning to read is building vocabulary. All vocabulary is taught in the context of the stories we read as part of our reading class so that students have a context for understanding new words.
