Intro to Animation
This elective is great for students who are interested in art and animation. The nice thing is that you do not have to be an artist to enroll in this class. You will learn to do many things in this class, like work with different Adobe programs, watch cool videos about animation, create and design a character, write a story about your character, and make your very own animation. The kind of animation you do in this class is not limited to digital animation, either. You can also do a flipbook or create an animation out of clay!
What I enjoyed about this class was writing stories about my character because I like writing. I also enjoyed designing my character and creating cutouts of it because I love drawing.
Infant and Toddler Growth and Development
Do you like working with young children? Then this is the perfect elective for you! In this elective, you learn all about the development of infants and toddlers and create lesson plans for the NHS Preschool. The lesson plans are focused on the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional aspects of child development. After lesson plans are made, every student is assigned a day to teach. One half of the week is spent in the classroom, and the other half is spent in the preschool. Having experience with children is not a requirement for this class! It’s a good way to get more hands-on experience working with young children.
I enjoyed interacting with the preschoolers because they are cute and fun to be around. We sing and dance to music, play games that promote physical development, and create crafts. You will never be bored in this class!
