I don’t know if I grew up too fast
Or the world is too slow
I don’t know if the tint on my glasses should be rose
Or this color rather mellow
If the grass is green
Because of what I see
It isn’t
To me the world is shouting for help
To me our earth is outspoken
A damsel in distress
As if women need the saving while our counterparts run our world into the ground
Look at the world around us we say
Look at the charts
Look at the statistics
Look at the articles
Look at the FACTS
They turn away
Turn a blind eye at the burning forest
Turn a blind eye at the ice melting
Turn a blind eye at people killing people
But who am I to say?
To say we have a problem
To say something’s not right
Speak up they say
Just not too loud
Just a “teenager”
Just a “girl”
Just a “stupid kid”
What if I don’t know who’s stupid after all
