My name is Kate White, and I am a teacher with Norfolk Public Schools. I was married in January of 2018 to my husband Jim White. I have one step son, Jimmy, two cats, Sasha and Baby Tiger, and one stubborn bull dog, Lexi Sue. I have been a teacher for 8 years with NPS and have taught math content during that time. Teaching is my number one passion. I believe in the education of all individuals and that as an educator it is my responsibility to give the most recent and factual knowledge. Teaching is an art form as much as it is a necessity in our society. So much of our experience with school and education has been traditional, a classroom full of rows of desks facing the board and teacher's desk. However, in today's society, school has transformed into a scientific experiment of technology and higher order thinking. We forget there are so many other wonderful ways to teach children based on their interests and inquiries.
