DISTRICT SNAPSHOT TIMELINE
Week 0: [Snapshot not open] Provide time for students to complete diagnostic items in the Arena
Week 1: Provide class and or access time for Snapshot completion with teacher supervision.
Week 2: Β Provide adequate time/supervision to ensure that your ELA/Math students complete their Snapshots.
Emergency completion week: Unfinished students may be pulled from class and/or boost to complete snapshots in another room under staff supervision.
PRIOR TO SNAPSHOT WINDOW
Configure Snapshot window(s) at IXL based on district schedule
Communicate upcoming window and timeline with Math/ELA teachers. For example, in MS/HS:
Week 0: Teachers provide time for Arena work
Week 1: Teachers provide time in class/Boost for Snapshot completion
Week 2: Teachers provide time, and students may be instructed to work on Snapshot completion regardless of their Boost session
All students should be done by the end of week 2
EMERGENCY Week 3: Any remaining unfinished students are pulled into a specific room for supervised Snapshot completion, possibly during Boost
DURING SNAPSHOT WINDOW
Monitor student snapshot completion throughout window, provide reminders, and updates regarding students who still need to complete Snapshots to teachers and Mrs. Smith
AFTER SNAPSHOT WINDOW
Facilitate data activities with teachers
Share exemplars of teacher/student success
Remind teachers how/where to find reports
Facilitate specific data activities to support desired outcomes

STOP suggesting/assigning activities in platforms like IXL and Big Ideas. They will NOT be available in the second-semester class that will be created automatically.

IXL: Edit roster titles to indicate old/S1 classes versus new/S2 classes for student and teacher clarity (consider student perspective - 2 active classes on platform)

Big Ideas Learning Online: If student/teacher access to assignments created in S1 BIL classes is necessary, extend class end date(s) and edit titles of old classes to reflect old/S1.
Big Ideas Learning Online: Edit new/S2 class titles to indicate to students and the teacher that they are the current ones (consider student perspective - 2 active classes on platform)
Big Ideas Learning Online: Assign books to each new/S2 class

WRAPPING UP SEMESTER 1
TWO WEEKS PRIOR: Advise teachers regarding upcoming changes at Synergy, Clever, and synced platforms. Provide suggested tasks for a smoother transition. Avoid an 8AM blindside on day 1 of S2.
SYNERGY: Increase transparency regarding grading period thresholds
Inform teachers of the number of days before/after the grading period that grade changes are allowed (See Synergy Grading Setup page).
Consider allowing teachers a 1 or 2-week window for grade entry (Synergy support recommendation)
If teachers must request a grade change after the semester ends, inform them and provide instructions
