Student Medications- Regarding prescription medications needed at school (scheduled daily medications, as needed medications, inhalers, and epi-pens), every medication requires a physician order for your child to take the medication at school. See above Medication Authorization Form. A note from your child’s physician is also adequate if preferred. Your child’s medication must be dropped off in the nurse’s office. Please do not send medications to school with your child so we may ensure the safety of your child and all our students. Medications are required to be labeled in the prescription packaging with your child’s name. New physician orders are required each year. If you have any questions surrounding the medication policies, please feel free to contact me.
Student Medical Information- I ask that you please be sure to update all of your child’s medical information and contact information (including physical exams and immunizations) on a regular basis so if needed, our information on file is current. Physical exams need to be current for student athletes. It is also important that your child meets the State of New Hampshire School Immunization Requirements for the 2023-2024 school-year. See link above. If your child has a medical or religious exemption, please fill out the above form and submit to me. Any students with specific medical needs (anaphylaxis, asthma, seizure disorder, migraines, diabetes, etc.) should have an Emergency Action Plan sent to school from their medical provider.
Illness Guidelines- As a reminder, the school's guidelines regarding illness are as follows: If your child has any symptoms of illness, or has a fever of 100 degrees F or greater, they may not return to school until they're 24 hours free of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and symptoms are improving. I cannot stress enough the importance of adhering to these guidelines. We here at the school are doing everything we can to prevent illness, but we need your support and cooperation.
