Timeline for A+

Accumulation of 50 hours--begins after completion of sophomore year; ends three weeks before graduation

Earning required GPA--by 7th semester OR by completion of high school (with permission of A+ Coordinator/Principal)

Earning required ACT Math score--April ACT of senior year

Read/re-read all documents provided on this site, especially the Official DHE website which outlines ALL responsibilities of the students and parents to complete the program both in high school and after graduation. It is recommended to do this throughout the process to keep timelines in mind. Do not just use this timeline--it is a more general outline!

Important Senior Year items:

• Apply to the A+ eligible community colleges and/or vocational schools
• Complete the FAFSA after October 1 of senior year and well before the February 1 priority deadline
• Get in direct contact with Financial Aid departments regarding application of A+ funds--some websites have clear information on this, others just state that they take A+ funds
• Get clear information from schools about A+ approved degree/certificate programs at their school
• Have a clear understanding of how to keep the A+ scholarship once you enroll and continue attending a post-secondary institution
• Request final transcripts be sent to the appropriate school(s)--students who complete the A+ Program will automatically have the official A+ seal stamped on the final transcript. We walk all seniors through reporting of final transcripts, scholarships, post-secondary plans, etc. beginning sometime in March.
