Summer Work for AP Psychology
1. Join the AP Psychology 2025- 2026 google classroom by going to google classroom, clicking on “join class” and entering the code 2pg642xu so that we can communicate with you and make announcements if necessary over the summer. 2. Get and read Forty Studies that Changed Psychology by Roger R. Hock (ANY EDITION)
(You can buy this book used online (new or used), get it from the public library or rent it from a textbook website or just read the PDF here! Please email me at aleichtman@norwood.k12.ma.us if you have trouble)
3. Reply to the Discussion Post on google classroom asking if you received and understand the summer work!
4. Complete the following assignment and bring it to the first class
A. There are 10 sections of the book. Read the entire book and then choose one article from each section (10 in all) and write a summary/ reaction for each section. Each summary/ reaction should:
Be written on a separate sheet of paper with the article name and APA style citation given in the book at the top (this is given at the beginning of each chapter)
Summarize both the basics of the experiment and the significance in your own words.
Significance should include your own critical evaluation of the experiment as well as its value to the field of psychology
Each student response should be at least one pate (and no more than two pages)
Each response should be in 12 point font and double spaced.
B. In addition to the 10 summaries please write a one page reaction to the following question after you have finished the assignment:
What is psychology? What have you learned about psychology from this book? Does anything surprise you? Do you have any reactions to what you have read? What questions do you still have that you would like answered as part of your study of psychology.
5. Have a great summer! You will receive textbooks in September!
