We have two picture days this year: Picture Day for Grades 6 and 8 is on October 14th and Grades 5 and 7 is on October 15th.
Do you love drawing, comics, manga, and hanging out with friends? Are you dying with anticipation for the next K Pop Demon Hunter? Do you just want to chill with some fun cartooning activities after a long day? Do you want a space to create your own graphic novel? Then the CMS Cartooning Club is the place for you. Open to all students in Grades 5-8. The Cartooning Club meets on Thursdays in Room 355 after school with Mr. Andrews beginning October 9th.
Do you like to do community service? Do you want to help make our school a kinder and more inclusive place? Are you interested in helping to plan fundraisers and spirit days? Then, Student Council is the club for you! All grades are welcome to join. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 15, in the Auditorium from 3:20 until 4:00 PM. See Ms. Bayiates or Mrs. Thomason with any questions.
Crafts for Kids. Would you be interested in learning a new craft? Sign up in the cafe or outside Room 250. Craft for Kids classes will be on the 3rd Monday of the month. Ist class is Monday October 20.
Homework Club begins next week on Monday, October 6th. It meets Mondays and Wednesdays after school in the library. Contact Ms. Egli with any questions.
The Coakley Middle School Council consists of parents, staff, students, and community members. The responsibilities of the Council are as follows:
Adopting educational goals for the school.
Identifying the educational needs of Coakley Middle School students.
Reviewing the annual Coakley Middle School budget.
Review and create the school improvement plan.
The Council meets approximately once per month via Google Meets at 6:30 PM. In addition to attending the monthly meetings, members also work on reviewing, formulating, and implementing action plans during the school year. If you are interested in being part of the CMS School Council, please get an application from the main office. Applications are due Friday, October 10th.
We will be having our first National Junior Honor Society meeting of the school year on Tuesday, October 7th, after school in the 3rd floor cafeteria for active members. Please remember that these and all meetings are mandatory. Reach out to Mrs. Arone if you have any questions.
Homeroom teachers submit your attendance during homeroom and continue to submit your Block 1 attendance.
Reminder to students and staff: Do NOT open the front door to admit anyone into the building. All visitors must ring for the main office to let them in.
Reminder, students can only take the bus they are assigned to. We will not be allowed to sign off on requests to a different bus.
Reminder to students, all cell phones belong in your lockers.
