Our first STEM Workshop was paid for by a grant from the Wayne County Retired Teachers Association. The spots filled quickly! Our next event will be Tuesday, February 26 from 4-6pm.
John Schantz from Schantz MakerSpace instructed students on how a 3D Pen works.
Using the pen and special forms the students built the pieces needed to make a bug.
The process took patience but was a lot of fun!
Twenty 4th graders completed the project in a 2 hour class after school!
Teachers and middle school students assisted participants.
Each creation was personalized and unique!
Slow and steady!
Students worked at table in the NES Library.
Students shared techniques and ideas, too!
There were many color options with the filament.
Each piece was built individually using the 3D Pen.
Mr. Schantz also shared interesting information about how 3D pens and 3D printers are used in our world today!
Using the Build Guide the bugs were assembled.
Assembling the bug takes patience too!
