All students in Year 10 & 11 will participate in new and exciting physical activities at least once a week. They will be given a choice of activity every 5 weeks in order to develop personal fitness, new skills and all of the mental and social benefits associated with being active.
As part of our Core PE curriculum we offer students the opportunity to become Sport Leaders. This programme allows students to learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to lead basic physical activities to younger people within the community. We work closely with out primary feeders school to offer a number of events throughout the school year, for example, multi-skills festival.
Students will choose from activities such as football, netball, golf, trampoline, table tennis, hockey, dance, fitness, dodgeball, athletics, tennis, cricket and rounders.
Physical activity is proven to have a wide range of physical, mental and social benefits. All young people between 5-18 years of age should aim for an average of at least 60 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a day across the week.
