PHSE, Citizenship and PB help to give pupils the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and to become informed, active, respectful and responsible adults. Pupils are encouraged to participate through discussion and circle time tasks, reflecting on big questions all humans ask themselves at some point in life. In doing so, they learn to recognise their own worth, work well with others and become increasingly responsible for their own learning. Pupils actively participate in PSHE lessons through role-play, questioning, debate and presentations.

Students will be given the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences and come to understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the social, moral and cultural issues that are part of growing up. They also find out about the main political and social institutions affecting their lives, and about their responsibilities, rights and duties as individuals and members of society. They learn to understand and respect our common humanity and appreciate diversity and difference, so that they can go on to form effective, fulfilling lives.
