This course aims to assist students in developing an enquiring, critical and reflective approach to their studies and their lives. Whilst this will complement broader PSHE discussions in tutor time, it also aims to enhance their spiritual and moral development and their personal, social and cultural development. Finally, the course enables them to reflect on and develop their own values, opinions and attitudes in light of their learning.
Edexcel- Beliefs in Action
Unit 1: Religion and Ethics. In this unit students will study Belief in God, Marriage and the Family, Living the Religious Life and Matters of life and death based upon a study of Hinduism.
Unit 2: Religion, Peace and Conflict. In this unit students will study Belief in God, Crime and Punishment, Living the Religious Life and Peace and Conflict based upon a study of Christianity.
This course is for ALL students, and helps them explore ethical and moral issues. Lessons involve discussion, debate and continuums and note taking. This course is suitable for people of all abilities.
