ALC is a specialist intervention course primarily focussing on the enhancement of life skills and personal development. This is supplemented throughout the two year course with literacy and numeracy support in small group situations. There are many opportunities for enrichment activities and qualifications, which are delivered in practical environments in order to engage students and aid progression.

The aim of this unit is to help the learner develop their enterprise skills by planning, costing, promoting and selling a product or providing a service.
An enterprise activity might include a group activity (e.g. baking cakes, washing cars) or an individual activity (e.g. making cards) which often raises money.
Build students knowledge and appreciation of the natural world.
Develop personal skills and possible career options in the outdoor industries.
Develop an appreciation for conservation and the natural world.
Focus on developing problem solving and team work skills in a sporting environment.
Opportunity for working in a more practical based environment to develop these skills.
