-Class Information, Expectations & Rules-
Welcome to foreign language class!
All students are expected to come to class every day prepared with:
1. Their notebook.
2. A pen and pencil.
3. When applicable, their homework, as due.
Overview of topics:
Vocabulary: classroom, personal characteristics, pastimes, food, family, clothing, home, feelings, calendar, weather, travel, and more!
Grammar/Expressions: likes/dislikes, descriptions, time, date, adjectives/prepositions, direct/indirect objects, and more!
Verb conjugation: present and future tense, verb expressions, irregular verbs
Nouns/adjectives: masculine/feminine, singular/plural agreement
Cultural information and activities: Spanish-speaking countries, ancient Latin American civilizations, cultural traditions, the role of Spanish cultures in the world
General classroom goals:
Mind your student handbook
Participate in class EVERY DAY!
Respect classmates and teachers
Respect classroom materials
HAVE FUN LEARNING
What to expect:
~ Homework will be given about 3x/week
~ Vocabulary quizzes will be given weekly/bi-weekly
~ Tests will consist of listening, reading, writing, speaking, and cultural comprehension
~ You should participate every day!
Grading scale - Your HW, quizzes, tests, projects, and participation/classwork will be given a point value based on their worth. Usually, (depending on their length and criteria) tests are worth about 100 points, HW is worth about 10 points, and participation/classwork is worth about 25 points.
