VISION: Collaborate with community to create independent lifelong users and producers of information and promote reading.
Library Media Curriculum: Media Specialists support the Reading and Writing Curriculum of the Norton School District in addition to the instruction of information literacy following the AASL (American Association School Librarians) standards, Common Core, MA Frameworks, and in collaboration with Classroom Teachers and school wide initiatives.

About Me
I am the Library Teacher for the Norton Elementary Schools: HAY, JCS, and LGN. A NEW Book Reviewer for The LibraryThing. I received a Bachelor of Science from Stonehill College, an M.Ed. in Library All Levels from Cambridge College, and I recently completed my CAGS certificate in Reading at American International College.
Favorite Things
My favorite picture books are Make Way for Ducklings and Where The Wild Things Are. My favorite chapter book is by Kate DiCamillo- Because of Winn Dixie. I enjoy working with kids, the Boston Red Sox, riding my bike, dogs, the beach, and traveling the USA and around the world- my favorite state to visit is Hawaii and anywhere tropical.

We are excited for a wonderful year in Library Media.
Circulation Policies:
Students in Grades PK, K, and 1st will be able to check out 1 book at a time for one week. Books can be renewed for an additional week.
Students in Grades 2&3 will be able to check out 2 books at a time. Books can be renewed for an additional week. One fiction and one nonfiction is encouraged.
No fines are charged for overdue books. However, a replacement fee will be charged for any books lost or damaged.
Your child will not be able to check out another library book until the late or missing book is returned or the replacement fee paid (or a replacement book is provided).
A lost or damaged book can be paid for by cash, Unipay (select Technology/Materials tab) or check. Checks are payable to: Norton Public Schools.
If your child received an overdue notice and you know that he/she returned it, please contact us at jdurmis@norton.k12.ma.us for HAY, LGN, and JCS students so that we can look into it.
