We encourage you to work with your child on these skills to help with the transition to kindergarten.
- Recognizing his/her printed name
- Writing his/her name beginning with a capital letter and the rest lowercase (not with all capital letters)
- Dressing independently with zippers, buttons, snaps, belts, etc.
- Changing in and out of shoes and tying laces
- Going to the bathroom independently
- Blowing nose and covering mouth when coughing and sneezing
- Eating neatly
- Listening and following two step directions
- Asking and answering questions
- Using manners and knowing when to use “please,” “thank you,” and “excuse me”
