Get to Know Ms. Hiestand

Hello! My name is Ms. Hiestand. I will begin my 14th year of teaching the 2020-2021 school year. I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade in the years I have been teaching. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Education from Bloomsburg University in 2006 and received my Masters in Special Education from West Chester University in 2012.

I'm looking forward to an exciting and rewarding year full of many new learning experiences. I use class dojo for positive reinforcement in my classroom throughout the day to help motivate students to stay on task. My goal as an educator is to help children reach their full academic potential and to have a love of learning.

When I'm not in school I love spending time with my family especially my 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

In my free time I love spending time at the beach and reading a good book.
