The first and most important priority of the  North Star Elementary PTA is to support our students BY supporting our school's staff.   We provide funds that enable teachers to do that bit extra for our kids- to add enrichment to their studio, hold that extra event for their students, or do one more field trip. 

We want to ensure that all North Star Elementary students can experience a vibrant, fulfilling education regardless of personal economic conditions.

The North Star Elementary PTA funds an environmental learning program provided by the Wargo Nature Center.  As part of this program, Wargo staff naturalists come to our school's outdoor classroom and lead the students in an exploration of our local biomes as they change through the seasons.  The PTA also provides charter bus transportation for the annual 5th grade trip to Deep Portage Learning Center.

 The North Star Elementary PTA facilitates book fairs through the school year.  These events raise excitement about literacy with the students, and the resulting funds directly fund new materials for the media center and  classrooms.

Similarly, the PTA manages the school yearbook process to provide students with a tangible reminder fo their time at North Star Elementary.

The North Star Elementary PTA has partnered with the nonprofit organization Children's Performing Arts to offer opportunities for our students to experience theater from behind the curtain.  

The NSE PTA looks to find ways to celebrate our community and students.  Our most popular event is the annual Bingo Night, where we open up the school for an evening of free bingo!

The PTA partners with the school staff and leadership to find simple and fun ways to raise money to support the school... without resorting to bake sales.  Our primary fundraising partner is Boosterthon, which leads the students through a thought-provoking character-building curriculum as a part of the fundraising process, culminating in an one-day event such as the Glow Run.   Other, smaller fundraisers occur as opportunities arise, like the silent auction on the annual Bingo night.
