Part 2: Assistant Group Leader
This self-guided Google Classroom course takes about (TBD) hours to complete. It gives you a clear overview of what it means to be a Group Leader. You’ll learn about our systems, policies, and what’s expected of you in term of group management and engagement and helping kids with behavior. By the end, you’ll have a strong foundation to lead a safe, fun, and supportive program!
You are welcome to revisit the content in either of these courses at any time during the year. Please reach out to Kathleen if you have any feedback on either course, or suggestions for topic additions.
Callouts must happen before 10AM. If it is after 10AM and you call out of work, it will be considered a no-call / no-show. As a licensed childcare provider, we must maintain staff ratios to operate safely and successfully, and last minute callouts put this practice at risk. If you are calling out, you must text the School Age Director and your site coordinator in a group chat.
If you need time off for something (vacation, doctor's appointment, birthday, etc), you must submit a time off request via email to the School Age Director and your site coordinator at least 2 weeks in advance. You will also need to request time off in Paycom.

EEC requires licensed childcare programs to keep proof of a physical on file from within the last 2 years. There are a few different ways to meet this requirement:
A copy of your physical with the visit date clearly noted
A doctor's note stating when your last physical was and that you are cleared to work
If you have an appointment coming in the next 3 months: An email stating when your appointment is, including confirmation of the appointment with your healthcare provider (screenshot, confirmation email, etc)
EEC also requires proof of MMR vaccination (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella). If you're not sure what this is or why it is important, watch the video below! Most people in the US receive the first dose between 12–15 months and the second between 4–6 years of age. These should appear on your immunization records, which you can request from your doctor if not visible on your Patient Portal. If your records are unavailable, a blood test (called a titer test) can confirm immunity. Your doctor or an urgent care center can help with this.
Massachusetts law requires all residents to have health insurance. Most U.S. health insurance plans cover annual physicals (preventive checkups) at no cost under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Most health insurance plans cover MMR vaccinations, but coverage for the titer test varies (call your insurance company and ask for coverage regarding CPT code 86765 if you are unsure).
When you visit a doctor or urgent care, the provider usually bills your insurance first. Depending on your plan, you may only need to pay a copay or part of the cost. If you do not provide your insurance information or visit an out-of-network provider, you may have to pay the full cost. A physical at urgent care without insurance information may cost $30–$150+.
To ensure your visit is billed to insurance, bring:
Your insurance card (or a photo of it) and tell the front desk your insurance plan
A photo ID
A payment method in case there is a copay
Basic medical info like medications, allergies, and your pharmacy (if you know it)
