FIT, HEALTHY, AND READY TO LEARN

Research shows that healthy children do better in school- from attendance and behavior to academics and overall performance. Participation in regular physical activity shows increased brain activity resulting in an increase in performance in the classroom. The NRCSD advisory council works with the district to help school communities support good health and academic achievement.

School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is a state mandated advisory council that works together to improve the health and safety of all students and families through coordinated health programs. It is made up of parents, community members, students, teachers, school staff and administrators.
