Mrs. Jurman

NYS Master Teacher

Meet Mrs. Jurman

For the past 21 years, I've been honored to serve as a math teacher within the North Rockland Central School District. My journey has taken me through various educational settings, including the Alternative High School and Middle School, before finding my current passion in teaching Algebra and Geometry at North Rockland High School.

My ties to North Rockland run deep; I am a proud alumnus of NRHS, where I not only excelled academically but also thrived on the basketball and volleyball courts. My dedication to sports led to my induction into the NRHS Hall of Fame.  You can find my plaque in the Hall of Excellence! Following my high school years, I continued my volleyball career and was the starting setter for Division 1 Coastal Carolina University, where I pursued a degree in Business Administration.

Eager to expand my knowledge, I earned my MBA with a focus on Financial Management at IONA College. Alongside my academic pursuits, I obtained my Secondary Math Permanent Certification, solidifying my commitment to the teaching profession.

Driven by a passion for continuous learning and growth, I am honored to hold the title of NYS Master Teacher. Beyond the classroom, I find joy in coaching volleyball, participating in a women's golf league, reading and attending sporting events.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I am blessed with a loving family. My 19-year marriage has brought me immeasurable joy, alongside the privilege of raising four wonderful children, accompanied by our two cats and loyal dog.
