Each day our classrooms gather after breakfast to do circle time! During circle time, they greet everyone, learn about the calendar, the weather, the theme, and the focus areas of the week such as letter, number, shape and color!
StoryBots have a video that talks about how to tell time, the days of the week, the months and the seasons! It also throws in songs about healthy foods, & shapes!
Each day we talk about what day of the week it is, the date, month, year, and season!
For some catchy fun sing about the Seven Days of the Week and the Four Seasons with ABC Mouse! You can also sing along with StoryBots to learn the 12 months of the year!
Each day we discuss the weather outside! There is so much to learn about the weather that helps us identify the season we are in, what time of day, and what we should wear or do for outside!
Learn about the weather with Grover Weather Monster. You can also be a Weather Watcher with SciShow Kids. And sing along to Rain Rain Go Away with StoryBots.
Each week we'll focus on a new letter until we know the entire alphabet! We learn the letters by the type of line they make! We start with letters that make vertical and horizontal lines such as Ii, Tt, Hh, Ee, Ff, Ll. Then we move to diagonal lines with Rr, Kk, Aa, Vv, Mm, Nn, Ww, Xx, Yy, Zz. We'll then do letters with big and little curves in them such as Bb, Pp, Dd, Uu, Jj, Ss, Gg, Qq, Oo, Cc.

In this video you can practice your American Sign Language (ASL) as you learn the alphabet and the letter sounds! You can also practice the alphabet in Spanish with Elmo!
Each week we focus on a new shape by the type of line that they make! We start with rectangle, cross, diamond, triangle, square and circle and oval before we get into shapes with more sides such as hexagon, pentagon, and octagon!

Each week we focus on a new color! We start with basic colors like red, green, orange, brown, blue, yellow, black, purple, gray, and pink . Eventually we'll talk about the different lights and shades of colors and what colors we can make when we mix colors together!

It's so important for students to get physical activity during the day! And even better if they can get this activity OUTSIDE! Color with chalk, look for bugs, see how fast you can run, play on a playground, and make up games! There are so many things you can do outside! And anything you do to get your body moving promotes physical health!

Social-emotional learning is so important for preschoolers to learn and identify feelings and emotions, self regulation skills, conflict resolution, and resiliency. In our program we use the Sanford Harmony program and PAX Good Behavior Game to teach our students a basic understanding of these things.

As a part of social-emotional learning, we enhance our learning with the Do Right Crew! The Do Right Crew are special characters who focus on important character traits and actions that help students learn and grow to be good role models and friends.
We have Friendly Ben, Get Along Gracie, Pitch in Pedro, Helpful Hannah and Reggie Respect!
