This webpage was inspired by the findings and writings of Harding Lewis. At the time of his book he was living at 1426 Charbonnet St. New Orleans, La 70117. This book was finish on July 12, 1977.

Harding was a descendant of the Lewis Family of Copiah County. His mother was Rosanna Burns and father was Joseph Lewis. They were both born in Copiah County. Harding, along with other descendants of the Lewis family was interest in tracing their ancestors and this is why he researched and wrote the book.
Although Harding is deceased, he requested information from the family to help him document his book. He requested copies of birth and death certificates of persons listed in the book. He requested, and we are still requesting these persons that were born in Copiah County certificates.
