North Lake General Music and Choir

Welcome to the North Lake Music Website! Here you will find information on General Music (grades K-4), and Middle School Choir. Students in these classes will learn four basic skills: creating music, performing music, connecting with music, and responding to music. Mr. Krieger is excited to expand on all these concepts with all music classes.

Will Krieger - Director

As a graduate from UW-Whitewater, Will Krieger taught K-5 General Music for five years in the Kettle Moraine School District and is now thrilled to be at North Lake for his fourth year. He is passionate about building relationships with kids and instilling a love for music. Mr. Krieger is passionate about performance and strives to pass that along to his students. He strives to make every concert and performance an amazing experience for the students and the audience. Singing songs that the kids and the audience will love makes for an impactful experience all around.

Mr. Krieger has five kids; Briar (16), William (15), Darby (7), Samuel (5), and Auden (4). Aside from being with his family, Mr. Krieger also loves to play sports. His favorites include tennis, pickleball, football, and basketball. He also enjoys running. He is a huge Packer fan and does his best not to miss a play all season! Overall, however, he loves nothing more than to sit at a piano and play/sing a song for anyone who would like to listen. He is part of a Dueling Pianos organization called Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos.

K-4 General Music

In General Music, students learn the foundational skills and concepts of music. Students learn to sing, play instruments, improvise, compose, read musical notation, write musical notation, analyze music, and relate to music. Above all, students learn that music is awesome and really fun! The highlight of the K-4 General Music school year is the concert preparation and performance. Mr. Krieger always picks upbeat, fun, exciting music for students to perform.

Middle School Choir

5th through 8th graders in Choir dive deeper into reading, analyzing, and performing music. They learn a large repertoire of music every year that encompasses many styles and genres. The emphasis in Choir is that we are a team that learns together and performs together, creating great musical experiences for our audience.

Pop/Rock Piano

In this introductory piano class, students learn to: read chords, play all 12 major scales, and read sheet music. There is an emphasis on music theory and understanding the "how" and "why" to what makes music work. Students are given the opportunity to learn Pop/Rock songs, or any song of their choosing.

Learning Management System

Students in grades 3-8 will use Google Classroom. Students in grades K-2 will use ClassDojo.
