7th Grade Science

In the middle school science classroom, the concepts learned by the students are aligned with Wisconsin's Standards for Science as well as the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will learn concepts related to physical, earth/space, and life sciences during the this year. A number of different learning opportunities such as lab inquiries, individual investigations, group discussions, and small group activities can be used to learn these concepts and apply them. We will utilize a number of different resources online as well as the textbook Prentice Hall Science Explorer.

This year, we are going to examine the following topics:

-Forces and Motion

-Energy

-Living organisms including classification and 6 kingdoms

-Plate tectonics, volcanoes, earthquakes and rocks/minerals
