MUSIC Summer 2023

Welcome to our summer guitar jam band! We first started our class by learning basics of music notation, but it quickly became clear that students were eager to starting playing instruments. Most of our students have taken to the guitar and have experimented with different strumming patterns, chords, and even custom tunings!

Everyone knows you rock harder with electric instruments, but you can't rock when they don't make a sound through the amp! We decided to take apart the electronic cover on our bass and discovered a loose wire. Next up, how do we fix it?

MATH Summer 2023

There is more than one way to solve a problem, but which way is the best or most efficient? Students have utilized our touch screen to work out math problems. When students work out their thinking on the board the whole class has an opportunity to see what strategies their peers are using to solve a problem. The student also gets to listen to suggestions and questions from the class. This ongoing feedback has been a successful teaching strategy, evident in 100% passing grades of our last two quizzes!
